Clear Creek Ridge Trail23 May 2013
The Clear Creek Ridge Trail begins at the Tucker rest stop off US 6 and is one of the trails that makes up the popular route known as Skyline Drive. As you drive southwest from the Tucker rest stop, the trail climbs 3,000 feet along a 9-mile stretch of rough and bumpy road. Though some sections are rather narrow, the road is generally wide and easy to drive. The trail runs along an attractive, tree-lined forest road passing several stands of aspen around the 7-mile mark. Special Attractions: Easy high-elevation scenic drive with good views; Wildflowers in spring and summer and wonderful fall colors; Many good backcountry campsites. This trail is graded dirt but suitable for a normal passenger vehicle. It usually has gentle grades, is fairly wide, and has very shallow water crossings (if any).
